The Year is Almost Over

Our year is wrapping up. If you haven't heard from me, I need to explain. This fall was busier than we could have hoped for, and as we so very often say, "we grow your bulbs." That means that we also plant your bulbs, and we doubled our plantings this year. Between the heavy crates, sulfur, and diesel, it made for some pretty dreary days. Now the holidays are upon us. Ben is in Virginia and Brad in Central America for three weeks. That leaves me for all of the
info@southernbulbs.com questions, and there are a lot. It is a process I enjoy though as it allows me to communicate with the customers directly.
Soon I will post a calendar for the speaking engagements in the upcoming year. In a few weeks, I am honored to present at the National Arboretum to the National Rock Garden Society. If you are in Texas, you can catch me at some of the home shows in the major cities, or look for me at a local garden club or master gardener group.
We posted our spring products and I am very excited to offer some unique crinums as well as traditional favorites. Some products we have already sold out of. These products will be up for a couple more months, and then our fall products will go back up. Please be sure to let us know how your bulbs are doing for you and please e-mail me personally at
chris@southernbulbs.com.

I have some very exciting pictures for flowers, but I first must let you know that we have a new guard dog on the property. My friends all pitched in and bought me a weimaraner (the "grey ghost") for my birthday/Christmas. His name is Fischer and his primary duty will be to keep the hogs away and go with me on the walks through the woods to walk the fence. He’s already been out in the boat and doesn’t seem to mind the water.
