Narcissus bulbocodium bulbocodium
Hoop Petticoats are loved by all for their beautiful form, but few realize the success this variety will offer. Rarely found in the trade, this is the true bulbocodium species Hoop Petticoat. The scientific name is Narcissus bulbocodium bulbocodium, reinforcing the belief that the true variety is easier to grow than its brother (N. bulb. conspicuous) and is the variety found in many historical plantings. It is a native of the mediteranian area, where it was found in gritty soils. We are honored and proud to offer bulbs from an authentic heirloom stock. As a good "rule of thumb" for most bulbs, plant this bulb at a depth three times the height of the bulb.
