A double flowered tazetta packed with fragrance and long lasting cut flowers. Tightly clustered rosettes of creamy white petals that perfume an entire garden with a sweet smell in the latter part of the spring. It is very similar in form to and could almost be considered a double form of Narcissus tazetta Grand Primo. The office staff calls the Narcissus tazetta 'Erlicheer' the "wedding flower" because the blooms look like a wedding bouquet. This bulb works great in zones 6-9. The 'Erlicheer' bulb is extremely dependable. It has proven itself as a good perennial that multiplies even in zone 9. This daffodil can add grace and sophistication to your early blooming garden.

Tazetta: The Narcissus tazetta 'Erlicheer' will make you so glad that you planted spring-blooming flowers. You may notice that this one is called a Narcssisus tazetta. What makes a tazetta bulb different from a non-tazetta bulb? Great question! Tazetta flowers have smaller cups, but a LOT more of them. Tazettas are generally larger and more robust than the smaller species flower bulbs often referred to as narcissus. The "tazetta" group is valued because most bulbs in this category are great perennials.

Blooms: The Erlicheer daffodil is known for its elegant and attractive appearance. It features multiple white or pale cream petals. The 'Erlicheer' blooms are individually petite; however, each 12" stem produces multiple ivory blooms to provide you with a full flower head. The tightly clustered rosettes of petals remind you of roses. Each bulb will send up one stem but each stem is filled with blooms

Fragrance: One of the most notable features of the Erlicheer daffodil is its delightful fragrance. The flowers emit a sweet, intoxicating scent, making them a favorite for those who appreciate scented blooms in the spring garden. Their fragrance and blooms make them perfect to use as cut flowers inside your house.

Plant: Plant the bulb like most daffodils in 6+ hours of winter sun, well-drained soil, avoid standing water, and avoiding too much competition. Plant the bulbs about 2-3 times the size of the bulb (so if the bulb is 1 inch long, plant it 2-3 inches deep). If you are farther north and get very cold during the winter, you may want to plant it about 4-6 inches deep. Space the holes about 3-6 inches apart, and for a more natural looking display, consider planting 2-3 bulbs in each hole.

Landscaping Tip: Narcissus bloom at different times so as one daffodil is ending its bloom time another is just beginning. We like to say that "there is a bulb that blooms every week of the year in warmer climates."  Your garden can have consistent flowers that you can enjoy inside or outside for months and carry you all the way from February through April.

Animals: Like other daffodil bulbs, critters, including deer and gophers, leave this bulb alone. However, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are attracted to the blooms and sweet-smelling flowers. There are so many blooms on each stalk that they don't have to fight over each flower.
